About Our Substrate
Originally, Chefs Mushrooms started by supplying fresh Oyster and Lion’s Mane mushooms to well established farmer’s markets. Our mushrooms were deliciously amazing and became incredibly popular. The mushroom vendors urged us to grow more mushrooms, so we did.
We soon realized we could create amazing mushrooms, consistently. This was no accident. Behind the scenes, we were methodically operating a sterilized laboratory and grow facility. Processes we use for mushroom cultivation were developed over years of experimenting.
But what really set us apart is (was) a big huge secret. We make our substrate the hard way, starting with 100% natural raw materials. Our wood is harvested from responsibily forested areas throughout the SW. Our farm fresh ingredients are grown and harvested in the fields of local farmers throughout the SW.
